ASU0140 Industrial Education Department  photograph collection, 1950sAdd to your cart.

This collection contains 9 black and white promotional photographs of classes taught in the Industrial Education Department of the University of Miami in 1951. The photographs show classes in bookbinding, printing, working with plastics and sheetmetal, welding, and woodworking.  The size of the photos are 7.5 x 9.5 inches glued on 8 x10 inch mats.

In addition, there are two press articles about the department (1954 and 1955) and brochures promoting the profession of industrial art teacher (no date).

Interactions is a collection of digital artwork created and produced by students enrolled in electronic imaging classes at the University of Miami.  It was published by the Department of Art and Art History.

The list of contributors are Andrew Binder, Edward Carney, Edward D. Ghannam, Yadira Granado, Joshua Hancik, Eric Oram, Iris Quiroz, Robert Reep, Nelson Santiago, Tammy Shapiro, and Jomar Valdez.  The faculty sponsor of the publication was Edward D. Ghannam, Associate Professor of Art.

The University Archives holds volume one, which was donated to the University of Miami Library in 2003 in memory of Dr. Marion Jefferson.

The 19-page publication "International Marketing Bibliography" was written by Dr. John M. Dyer, Professor of Marketing, University of Miami in 1974.  It was the second title in a series of publications by Gulf Oil Company - Latin America in cooperation with the University of Miami.

The publication used to belong to the University of Miami's Law Library, it was withdrawn from their collection and donated to the University Archives.

The 169-page publication "Interorganizational study: an analysis of interaction patterns among community agencies" was written by the University of Miami and the Chronic Illness Project, Inc. in Dade County Florida in May 1963.

The University Archives holds two copies of the publication.

ASU0181 Interview with Marcella U. Werblow video recording, 2013Add to your cart.

The 90 minute video recording contains an oral history interview of Mrs. Marcella U. (Ungar) Werblow.  She was a daughter of Arthur A. Ungar, who was a trustee of the university from 1930s to 1960s.  She was also an aunt of Leonard Abess, Jr., a former chair of the Board of Trustees.

In the interview, Mrs. Werblow discusses her childhood in Miami, including the 1926 hurricane, her education, attending the University of Miami, her father’s involvement with the University of Miami, the Orange Bowl, Westview Country Club and other community causes, as well as anti-Semitism in Miami history.

The interview was conducted by Arva Moore Parks McCabe, a renowned anthor and Miami historian, a trustee of the University of Miami, and an ardent supporter of the University of  Miami Libraries.

The oral history program was funded by the University of Miami Libraries, and the project was coordinated by Laura Capell, Digital Special Collections and Oral Histories Librarian.

ASU0646 Iron Arrow Honor Society records, 1926-2013Add to your cart.
The University of Miami Iron Arrow Honor Society collection contains the official records of the Society dating from 1926 to the present. Items in the collection include organizational records, photographs, clippings, and jackets worn by the members.  The collection was donated to the Archives and Special Collections in March 2004 by C. Rhea Warren, former Chief of the Iron Arrow Honor Society.
