The Council for Statehood was a clandestine right-wing organization headed by Mary Davison and based in West Palm Beach, FL. The group advocated for an overthrow of the federal government by means violence, specifically, assisinating individuals of high-ranking political and business positions, especially those who were Jewish. The Council was also virulent towards the US's participation in the United Nations. The FBI and local law enforcement agencies investigated the group continously. For a time following the assassination of President Kennedy, the group were considered potential accomplices to the plot.
