Abstract

The Ariel Remos Papers contain the personal papers of Cuban journalist Ariel Remos (d. 2013).

Scope and Contents of the Materials

The Ariel Remos Papers contain the personal papers of Cuban journalist Ariel Remos (d. 2013). They include extensive newspaper and online publication clippings, as well as essays, official reports, periodicals and pamphlets for which Remos wrote, correspondence with other writers and intellectuals in exile, photographs, and audiovisual material. The majority of the materials relate to Remos' time as a Cuban exile journalist and intellectual in Miami, Florida.

Biographical Note

Ariel Remos was a Cuban lawyer and journalist. He left Cuba as an exile in 1960 and became a prolific writer for Cuban liberty publications. He authored several books on Cuba and wrote for a number of leading publications. Remos was also a musician and Cuban music historian. He is the son of Juan Jose Remos.
