Abstract

The Dysis Guira collection contains materials written by and about revolutionary student leader Dysis Guira.

Scope and Contents of the Materials

The Dysis Guira Collection contains materials written by and about revolutionary student leader Dysis Guira. It includes a manuscript by Guira, as well as numerous articles about Guira and her role in the Cuban Revolution. It also contains notes and manuscripts by Ciana Valdez-Roig, a Cuban poet and fellow Federación Estudiantil Universitario (FEU) member.

Biographical Note

Dr. Dysis Guira was a leader of the Federacion Estudiantil Universitaria (FEU) and Directorio Revolucionario de Cuba (DRC) during the Cuban Revolution.She was elected as a delegate for the FEU and went on pro-revolutionary speaking tours across Latin America, including Uruguay and Chile.
